The Nobel Prize in Economics 2021 has been awarded to economists David Card, Joshua D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens.

David Card won "for his empirical contributions to labor economics" and the duo consisting of Joshua D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens received the award "for their methodological contributions to the analysis of causal relationships." All three economists are affiliated with US universities.

As part of this award, ISEG promotes an analysis and debate of this prize and its impact on the economy on October 13, at 6pm (Auditorium 2, Ed. Quelhas, 2nd floor).

This session will feature Professor Mário Centeno (Governor of the Bank of Portugal) and Professor Vítor Escária (ISEG Professor).
