An open class on " European and National Public Policies in the Digital Age", between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., in the CGD Auditorium (Ed. Quelhas, 2nd floor). 

The speaker will be Professor Jean Tirole, president of the Jean-Jacques Laffont-Toulouse School of Economics Foundation and scientific director of the Institute for Industrial Economics. Jean Tirole is a member of MIT, the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the Institut de France and the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse, which he co-founded in 2011. 

Professor Tirole's research area covers topics such as industrial organization, regulation, finance, macroeconomics and banking, as well as psychology in economics. Jean Tirole has published more than two hundred articles in international journals and has published twelve scientific books. His latest book, published in 2016, entitled  Economics for the Common Goodwill be launched in Portuguese on May 15, at 6:30 p.m., at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.  

Jean Tirole has already received several international distinctions, including the gold medal in the 2007 CNRS competition and the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2014.
