About the Exhibition:

It is well known that learning the name of a thing gives us a certain power because we can summon it regardless of its actual presence. However, we can also say that art shows us the instability of this mechanism, inviting us to perceive the mismatch between a sign and what it evokes. It is such an exercise of strangeness of language, but also of visuality, that Anabela Mota proposes to us with this exhibition entitled Kyaneos, what color is blue. Only at cost can we translate the word kyaneos, which comes to us from Greek antiquity and from which the word cyan derives, the one that names the shade of blue that constitutes one of the three subtractive primary colors.
