Round Table | World Happiness Day

20 March from 14:00 to 17:00
Auditorium 2

Happiness can be said to be in vogue these days, with the first International Day of Happiness, established by the United Nations in 2012, being celebrated in 2013. In the resolution, approved by consensus, the UN General Assembly stressed that "the pursuit of happiness is one of the fundamental goals of the human being" and urged countries to concentrate their efforts on finding robust and reliable indicators capable of measuring the quality of life and well-being of populations, which would make it possible to compare GNH (Gross Domestic Happiness) with GDP (Gross Domestic Product). The aim of this round table is to understand why the Portuguese "evaluate" themselves as less happy than most Europeans. Are we really less happy or is this a statistical "illusion"?
