Colégio F3 | Urban Food Planning: Agri-food circuits, the right to food and citizen networks

12 Apr 18:00
CIUL Auditorium

On April 12, the 4th session of the seminar cycle on Urban Food Planningin the CIUL Auditorium.

The 4th Session of the Seminar Series on Urban Food Planning which the College of Food, Farming and Forestry (F3) organizes in partnership with the Lisbon Urban Information Centre (CIUL), will address the theme " Short agri-food circuits, the right to food and citizen networks" and will feature interventions by Isabel Rodrigo (ISA-ULisboa), Maria João Estorninho (FD/ULisboa) and Maria José Ilhéu (RRN).

The importance attributed by the European Commission to the expansion of short agri-food circuits (FAC) is reflected in the Rural Development Program for the Portuguese mainland for the period 2014-2020 (PDR 2020). However, there are still many issues that need to be incorporated and solved by the national policy agenda, namely: (i) implement, within the framework of public procurement, a common policy for the food supply of public catering from CCA, (ii) support agricultural producers and local employment, (iii) define the policy instruments to be implemented to facilitate access to products marketed in CCA or (iv) make many of the current regulations compatible with the specificities of CCA.

This cycle brings together, around six themes, experts from the University of Lisbon and other sectors of society with complementary skills in terms of areas of knowledge and action. Urban Food Planning as a result of territory, production, consumption, culture and environment is approached with a holistic view to generate a multidimensional debate that questions expectations and actions.

Free entry with compulsory registration. Limited to the capacity of the room.
