CEMAPRE Seminar | Precarious Employment and SII: Theory and Some Results

22 Apr 11:30

On April 22, the seminar "  Job insecurity and the SII: theory and some results ".

This seminar, organized by CEMAPRE - Centre for Mathematics Applied to Economic Forecasting and Decision, will feature Fernando Diogo, from the University of the Azores.

The session will begin with a discussion on the concept of job insecurity, looking at the difficulties in defining its conceptual scope.
Next, the concept will be applied to a specific population, the beneficiaries of the Social Integration Income (Rendimento Social de Inserção) who are gainfully employed, by mobilizing empirical studies.
The focus on the latter population is particularly interesting given that it is among those living in poverty that we can find job insecurity in all its diversity (including the most extreme forms), far surpassing the more limited studies that have been carried out focusing on young people from the middle classes, especially university graduates.
