ISEG and CESA- Center for Studies on Africa and Development invite you to the 7th session of the Development Studies Seminars 2022, on "Innovation and Change in Civil Society", with the speaker Ana Luísa Silva (CESA/CSG/ISEG/ULisboa).

Biography

Ana Luísa Silva is an international development practitioner and researcher with a background in political science and international relations. She completed a Master's degree in Development Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2009. Between 2009 and 2015, she worked as an NGO project manager for the British NGO Transaid (specialized in transport and development) in Nigeria, Madagascar and Mozambique, implementing innovative solutions to improve transport systems for access to healthcare in remote areas. More recently, she was part of the European startup eco-system organizing events to connect investors and innovators working on greener and more sustainable solutions in the areas of energy, water, waste management, agriculture, transport and other key sectors in need of transformative change for a sustainable future. Since 2017, she returned to academia, as a candidate for the PhD program in Development Studies at ISEG. She is currently conducting research projects on how the development cooperation sector supports innovation for sustainable development and how this drive for innovation affects development practice, with a focus on non-governmental development organizations (NGOs).


The Development Studies Seminars 2022 | Development Studies Seminars 2022 is an initiative that, since 1991, promotes research conducted in the study areas of the Master's Degree in International Development and Cooperation (MDCI) and the PhD Program in Development Studies (PDED) at ISEG.
