From April 14th to 16th
TIME: April 14 (6pm-8pm, Amph. 3)/  April 15 (18h-20h, Anf. 1) /  April 16 (10am-12pm, Amph. 1)

The aim of this seminar series is to present recent reconfigurations of the international division of food and commodity production, the ways in which capital has penetrated developing countries and the processes of resistance/integration of local production systems, in particular of peasants, as well as the associated political and social conflicts. The structural changes in the economy and agriculture, as well as the deepening of the underdeveloped nature of the recipient economies, the patterns of accumulation and the underlying political and economic alliances are mentioned.

Particular attention is given to resource-rich economies where the majority of the population lives in rural areas and small-scale agriculture in countries with fragile/fragilized states. The phenomena of land grabbing, resettlements, political and social conflicts, poverty, social inequalities and food security/sovereignty will be presented. The theme is presented in three sessions, whose themes/topics are below.
