General regime, part-time study

A general regime, part-time study student is defined as being one who chooses to study part-time during a given Academic Year, enrolling for a limited number of courses units for a Bachelors or Masters degree study cycle, benefiting from a reduction in the value of Tuition Fees and the Specific Suspension Rule.

Students may applying for general regime, part-time study status who possess a valid registration for a Bachelors or Masters degree.
Applications for this status are made annually at the beginning of each Academic Year on enrolment, up until the 15 th of October, by means of a request which is submitted to the Academic Services  of ISEG, where the student has to indicate the courses units that they intend to enrol for.

Requirements and Limitations

For each Academic Year, the maximum number of ECTS credits that a part-time student can enrol for may not exceed half (50%) the maximum number of ECTS credits permitted for the study cycle of the year for a full-time student, i.e., it may not exceed 36 ECTS per annum for the Bachelors study cycle, and 30 ECTS for the Masters study cycle.
General regime, part-time study students may not enrol for more than 18 ECTS per Semester.
Full time general system students are not allowed to change to the part-time general system when they have 36 or less ECTS left to complete for their Bachelors study cycle, or 42 or less ECTS in the case of the Masters study cycle.

Bachelor students are excluded from the preceding ruling who only lack a maximum of two course units to complete their degree, being permitted to transit to being part-time students.
