With the aim of stimulating in young people the taste, ability and vocation to think and research in mathematics, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has created the New Talents in Mathematics Program.
Each year, this program will distinguish university students who demonstrate high academic merit and will encourage the development of their mathematical culture and skills, supporting their work with renowned experts who will act as tutors. Participants in the Program are expected to carry out in-depth study and/or research in mathematics under the guidance of their tutors.
Applications are open until October 7, 2011.
