Today, November 9 at 12:00 pm, António Cruz Serra, Rector of the Technical University of Lisbon will make a statement to academia and society, on behalf of the rectors of Portuguese universities.
This declaration, which will take place at the Rectory of the Technical University of Lisbon, stems from the reflection on the implications that the State budget may have on the functioning of universities and represents a position taken by Portuguese public universities. UTL lost 32% of the state budget allocation from 2010 to 2012, and there is a risk of an additional cut of 9.3% for 2013.
To this end, the Technical University of Lisbon will convene its management bodies, chaired by the Rector, Professor António Cruz Serra, and the President of the General Council, Professor Adriano Moreira.
