ISEG/IDEFE students visit Chicago

On October 16, a group of students from ISEG/IDEFE and the coordinators of the postgraduate course in Financial Analysis left for Chicago - a world-renowned financial center, particularly in derivatives trading.

The work program, full of points of interest in the financial area, included visits to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade), the annual conference of the Financial Management Association (with a speech by a professor from the Chicago Booth School of Business, University of Chicago - winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2013), the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where the group was warmly welcomed by Prof. Sérgio Rebelo, whose cooperation we thank.

During these 5 days in the windy city, there was also time for an extensive and lively social program that included a trip to the theater with a blues show, a Chicago Bulls basketball game, dinner at a well-known jazz bar and various tours of Chicago (Millennium Park, museums, shopping on the magnificent mile, river cruise), a city whose architecture surprises!

There's more to come in 2014!
