Prometeo is a Research Fellowship Program that aims to attract PhD teachers and researchers to Ecuador.

The Ecuadorian Government announces the creation of the Prometeo Program, a Research Scholarship Program that aims to attract PhD teachers and researchers to Ecuador.

This Program is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Ecuadorian teaching and research institutions and foreign or Ecuadorian researchers living abroad, contributing to the transfer and promotion of scientific knowledge in Ecuador. The activities to be developed will include:

- Support for the design, evaluation and development of research projects.
- Active participation in classes, conferences, workshops and other academic activities.
- Adapt new procedures and techniques in areas of science, technology, innovation and productivity.

What is Prometeo?  

El Proyecto Prometeo es una iniciativa del gobierno ecuatoriano, que busca fortalecer la investigación, la docencia y la transferencia de conocimientos en temas especializados, a través de la vinculación de investigadores extranjeros y ecuatorianos residentes en el exterior. It is aimed at universities, polytechnic schools, public research institutes and other public or co-financed institutions that require assistance in the development of research projects in priority sectors. The links with the Prometeos will be for periods of 2 months up to one year (not necessarily consecutive), during which time they must develop a project together with their host institution that contributes to priority areas of knowledge such as: life sciences, basic sciences, natural resources, innovation, production, social sciences, educational sciences, art and culture.

What is Prometeo?   

The Prometeo Project is an initiative of the Ecuadorian government that seeks to strengthen the research, academic and knowledge transference in specialized topics through the incorporation of foreign and Ecuadorian (who live abroad) researchers/academics to different host institutions. It is aimed at universities, polytechnic schools, public research institutes, and other public or co-financed institutions that require assistance in the development of research projects in areas of priority. The time of incorporation of the Prometeos may be from 2 months to one year (notnecessarily in consecutive periods), during which they shall develop a joint project with their host institution that will contribute in areas such as: basic and life sciences, natural resources, innovation, production, social sciences, education, art and culture.
