Project 189 | University of Lisbon by bicycle wins CML's Participatory Budget

With 4,588 votes, Project 189 - "Universidade de Lisboa em bicicleta" won the 2014 Lisbon City Council Participatory Budget, in the category of projects between 150,000 € and 500,000 €.

Project 189 aims to promote and develop a sustainable mobility system in the city of Lisbon that could be a benchmark for new mobility models. By implementing this project, it will be possible to establish a cycling network between the different campuses of the University of Lisbon located in the city of Lisbon, linking the University City, Alameda, Ajuda, Chiado and Quelhas; as well as providing this route with support equipment for bicycle users.

Through various initiatives, including the "Tour of ULisboa - cycling for the 189 project", the University of Lisbon relied on the support and commitment of the entire academic community, as well as the local community, to publicize this project.
