Riding Practice at FMV-UL

A Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - University of Lisbon invested recently a major effort to refurbishment and modernization of its facilities of the Equine Unit.

It now has an arena covered (30m x 18m - synthetic floor), 20 boxes with individual paddocks, an outdoor roundhouse, harness room and covered area for cleaning/treatment of horses.

In addition to allowing its students greater contact with all the potential clinical and reproductive valences of the EU, this investment aims to enable the entire community of the University of Lisbon to practice horse riding, allowing not only the attendance of classes, but also the reception of horses stabled permanently ("a penso" horses).

The riding center is currently duly registered with the Portuguese Equestrian Federation (FEP) and the riding lessons are taught by technicians accredited by it.

Considering the potential interest that these activities should have for  ULisboa students, teachers and staff, we provide here  the information leaflet about the activities and their conditions.
