The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) ranks 1st among Portuguese universities in the SCIMAGO 2015 Research Ranking, which evaluates nine indicators: output (number of publications in SCOPUS), international collaboration, impact factor (normalized), publication quality factor, specialization index, excellence ratio, scientific leadership, publication excellence and leadership excellence.
ULisboa is ranked 113th in the world among the 5,055 higher education institutions and research organizations considered, having
up 26 positions since 2013. It should be noted that ULisboa has improved its ranking in the restricted universe of universities worldwide, now occupying 92nd place compared to 99th in 2014. At European level, ULisboa is in 29th place, of which only 19 are higher education institutions.
In this year's SCIMAGO Research list, the majority of Portuguese higher education institutions have risen. In this respect, ULisboa's position stands out, 84 places ahead of the Portuguese higher education institution in 2nd place.
