Professor Margarida Abreu joins the Audit Board of Banco de Portugal


Professor Margarida Abreu was a member of the Audit Board of Banco de Portugal.
This appointment demonstrates the relevance and participation of ISEG faculty in public and private institutions and in society at large. The mandate lasts for three years. The swearing-in ceremony took place on May 8.

About the Audit Board of the Bank of Portugal
The Audit Board of Banco de Portugal is composed of a chairman and two members.

The Audit Board is responsible for:
- Monitor the Bank's operations and compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to it;
- Examine the periodic situations presented by the management board during its management;
- Issue an opinion on the budget, balance sheet and annual management accounts;
- Examine the Bank's books, vaults and safes whenever it deems it appropriate, subject to the relevant security rules;
- Bring to the attention of the Governor or the Board any matter which he/she considers should be considered and express his/her views on any matter referred to him/her by those bodies.
