UNITE! European University wins bid worth 2 million euros to strengthen research and innovation

  A Universidade de Lisboa is one of the seven universities that form the consortium of the European University UNITE!, University Network for Innovation, Technology and EngineeringThe consortium was formed following the successful application to ERASMUS + KA2 - European University for €5 million. Together with Politecnico di Torino, coordinator of the application, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Aalto Korkeakoulusaatio sr and Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, ULisboa has now seen its capacity to develop its research and innovation (R&I) activities at European level strengthened with the approval of the UNITE!H2020 application in the H2020 Call Science with and for Society. In the amount of 2 million euros, this application will allow a greater integration of the best European practices at the R&I level, meeting the European Commission's strategy for a "greater and differentiated involvement of actors in the research process and in changing the traditional methods of organization and impact of research". In particular, this application aims to: 1 - Develop the common 2030 agenda for Research and Innovation, emphasizing the main vocations common to the partners in order to address the main societal challenges; 2 - Develop policies to strengthen human capital at R&I level; 3 - Develop policies for sharing research infrastructures; 4 - Strengthening cooperation with non-RI&I actors, e.g. by creating a network to support applications and knowledge transfer; 5 - Mainstreaming Open Science practices; 6 - Greater involvement of civil society and public authorities in R&I; 7 - Strengthening relations with other alliances in terms of synergies and complementarities.
