ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management will boost the executive careers of Olympic athletes by establishing an agreement with the Association of Olympic Athletes of Portugal (AAOP) that aims to foster institutional cooperation and create synergies between the institutions. The protocol will be signed on October 26, at 11 a.m., in ISEG's CGD Auditorium.

The protocol seeks to address the sector's current concern to provide Olympic athletes with tools to better face their post-sporting careers in the executive market. In addition to the presidents of the signatory entities and the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, João Paulo Rebelo, the event will be attended by several Olympic athletes, including medal winners Rosa Mota, Carlos Lopes, Vanessa Fernandes and Nuno Delgado.

According to Clara Raposo, president of ISEG, "This is yet another example of our dedication and commitment to guaranteeing lifelong training for the most diverse sectors and professionals. In this sense, the signing of this protocol provides Olympic athletes with tools for the new stage of their careers".

Portugal's Olympic athletes, the country's greatest symbols and the pride of us all, face another great challenge at the end of their sporting careers, associated with their integration and success in some form of entrepreneurial or executive activity. In line with its mission to serve the community, ISEG has signed an agreement with the Association of Olympic Athletes, creating privileged conditions for these athletes to access advanced and structuring training in Management, through its postgraduate and executive training programs." adds Luís Cardoso, president of ISEG Executive Education.

The joint collaboration will focus on four fundamental pillars:
- the development of research projects in thematic areas of common interest;
- the organization of joint training actions, seminars, events or workshops;
- the appointment of personalities from both sides with a view to participating in joint initiatives;
- special conditions for training in the ISEG Executive Education Programs for members of the Portuguese Olympic Athletes Association.

The AAOP has a well-defined purpose based on three strategic pillars: for the athletes, by the athletes and for society. By partnering with a century-old institution such as ISEG, considered one of the best economics and management schools in the world, with a high international reputation, we are taking an affirmative step in the process of Olympic athletes' sporting lives, giving them the tools they need to face their professional lives with greater confidence, and realizing that together, AAOP and ISEG, we are creating an innovative reference in education for athletes who have given and are giving so much to the nation and to society.", says Luís Alves Monteiro, president of the Portuguese Olympic Athletes Association.
