About Joaquim Ventura Leite
Economist, 66 years old, married and a grandfather!!!
He was a technician and senior official in the government of Mozambique after independence in 1975 and until 1983.
In Portugal, he has worked in the private sector and in local government since 1984.
He was regional responsible (District of Setúbal) of Social Security, between 1995 and 2001.
Between 2005 and 2009, he was a Member of Parliament for the PS.
In 2012, he published a book entitled: Solution to the National and European Crisis, through Esfera do Caos publishing house.
He has been a guest on a television program (SIC) debating economic and financial matters since 2009 until today.
Retired since December 1, 2016.
Participated in the formation of local social organizations.
He is a member of the board of APCA, Portuguese Association for Active Citizenship. ency International. He was an expert at the European Economic and Social Committee. He is an expert of the Council of Europe in international missions on good public governance, anti-corruption and money laundering. He is President of the General Assembly of the Portugal-Mozambique Association. He has published the books "Porto de Partida, Porto de Chegada", "Mudar o Poder Local" and "Da Corrupção à Crise". He is a regular contributor to the newspaper "Correio da Manhã"[1] . He is a lecturer in higher education in the areas of Statistics and Mathematics and director of the Institute of Electoral Studies of the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies of Porto.
He is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors - Transparency and Integrity Civic Association (TIAC),[3] whose mandate has been suspended since 13 March 2015, at his request, for an indefinite period. He requested the suspension of his mandate as Vice-Chairman of TIAC in order to run for President of the Republic.
It has strongly denounced, in various media, the corruption and promiscuity between the political and economic powers, and the unconstitutionality advocated by some law firms, as they are drafters of national laws, and at the same time representatives in the judicial circles of entities that are faced with those same laws.
He is an announced candidate for the 2016 presidential elections.
