Master’s in Actuarial Science
After completing my undergraduate degree, I knew I wanted to further develop my knowledge of statistics and probabilities applied to financial and economic contexts. While researching the Master’s in Actuarial Sciences, I realized that this programme combined exactly the areas I was looking for.
The Master’s programme at ISEG was a clear choice due to its broad and specialized curriculum, its excellent academic staff, and its international accreditations. Throughout the programme, I gained solid knowledge of the insurance sector, risk management, and the mathematical foundations of these fields.
In addition to a strong theoretical background, the programme places great emphasis on practical application, with coursework developed using tools such as Excel and R. The master final work can also be carried out in collaboration with a wide range of organizations, including insurance companies, consulting firms, and public sector institutions, which strongly supports a smooth transition into the job market. I am currently working at an insurance company, reflecting the applied and market-oriented preparation provided by the programme.
Finally, I would also highlight the international environment of the Master’s, with students from diverse nationalities, which significantly enriches the learning experience.
