Biografia
Economist, University Professor and Consultant with more than 15 years of experience in policy and research in macroeconomics, public finance and applied econometrics. Currently, Dr. Jalles is a Senior Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Lisbon. With a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, Dr. Jalles worked as staff economist at the IMF, the OECD, the ECB and the Portuguese Public Finance Council. In parallel he also kept a teaching career on the side having lectured at the Nova School of Economics and Business, the University of Cambridge, the University of Aberdeen and at Sciences Po. He was a visiting scholar at the IMF and at the Central Bank of Portugal and also acts as consultant/expert to several national and international organizations on multiple projects. Dr. Jalles is among the top 1% economic authors in the World (Rank: [228 out of 67861]), based on IDEAS database´s last 10-year publications (the largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics). Dr. Jalles is currently Associate Editor of the Public Finance Review. He has published more than 160 academic papers in peer-reviewed economics journals.
