The applications period for the 3 Thesis Minutes - ULisboa 2026 competion is open until 15 February!
Who is it for?
The following are eligible for the 3MT Competition: students enrolled in a PhD degree at Universidade de Lisboa from the 3rd year onwards (inclusive). The challenge is to explain the impact of their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes and using a single slide.
What are the prizes?
1st place - €5,000
2nd place - €2,000
3rd place - €1,000
Candidates in Phase 1 will receive a Science Communication Training and a certificate of participation. The Phase 2 finalists and prize-winners will also be awarded diplomas in recognition of their merit.
Important dates
Applications: 2-15 February 2026
Training in science communication (for competition candidates): 25 and 26 February 2026
Video submissions: 27 February to 20 March 2026
