The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) offers the Teaching Toolkit, a digital repository of teaching approaches, methodologies, and resources based on practices developed by faculty members from various schools within the University.
The Toolkit is the result of a systematic process of collection, analysis, and categorization of teaching practices shared by ULisboa faculty members, thereby highlighting the diversity of experiences already present at the University and making them available as a source of inspiration and support for other faculty members.
The practices are organized around different pedagogical approaches and methodologies, with a particular focus on active learning strategies, as well as resources and technologies to support teaching and learning. Each category includes a conceptual framework outlining its main characteristics, examples drawn from practices developed at ULisboa, suggestions for its application, and guidance on the contexts in which its use may be particularly relevant.
Available through a digital learning environment, the Toolkit allows teachers to:
- Learn about practices developed by colleagues from different academic disciplines at ULisboa and draw from them ideas that can be adapted to their own teaching contexts;
- To deepen one's understanding of pedagogical and conceptual foundations of different approaches and methodologies for teaching and learning;
- Accessing audiovisual content, including testimonials from faculty and students and examples of activities carried out in an educational setting;
- Review resources and tools to support the implementation of these practices, including tutorials on digital tools, guides, and activity plans.
More than just a repository, the Toolbox aims to serve as a space for sharing, learning, and inspiration among faculty members, contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and the promotion of academic success at the University of Lisbon.
The Pedagogical Toolkit aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning experiences and to foster conditions that support students’ integration, participation, and academic success.
The repository is available to the faculty community through the University of Lisbon's Moodle platform.
