Debate | Digital Governance in Portugal

22 Oct 2025 from 11:30 to 14:00
António de Almeida Santos Auditorium (Portuguese Parliament)

From 11.30 to 14.00 on 20 October we will be hosting an event on the topic of 'Digital Governance in Portugal: the regulation model and the roles of the Regulators' . The event, which will be held in the António de Almeida Santos Auditorium of the Portuguese Parliament, proposes to reflect on the regulation of the digital space in Portugal, in a context that is marked by an increasing amount of European legislation — ranging from the GDPR to the most recent AI Act.

In view of the plethora of digital regulatory entities in Portugal, such as ANACOM, ERC, CNPD and the Competition Authority, the coherence of the current model is questioned, and an attempt is made to understand how this regulation can be more integrated, effective and aligned with the demanding challenges of the digital age.
