Ph.D. in Planetary Health at ULisboa: Applications due by September 1

The 4th and final round of applications to PhD in Planetary Health at the University of Lisbon takes place between August 31 and September 1, 2026, making this the last chance to join the 2026–2027 edition of this program, which begins in September. Interviews with shortlisted candidates will take place on September 4.

Launched in 2025, the program promotes an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to the global challenges affecting human health and the health of the planet, integrating expertise from 19 Schools of the University of Lisbon. It is organized into six specializations: Climate Change and Health, Global Health, Health in Extreme Environments, Policy and Governance in Planetary Health, Tropical Health, and Urban Health.

This year, we interviewed Chantal Riggs, a first-year student, to learn about the impact of the Ph.D. in Planetary Health on her academic and professional journey. Read the Interview with Chantal Riggs.

The application process is evaluated based on the Curriculum vitae and cover letter, followed by interviews with the shortlisted candidates and the selection of the candidates to be hired.
