On 22nd October, the Economics Alumni of ISEG will bring together the alumni community for another edition of the Charity Gala of ISEG Alumni Económicas, an event that combines a reunion and a celebration with an important charitable cause.
The main objective of the initiative is raise funds for the Alumni Económicas Solidarity Programme, which supports ISEG students with proven financial difficulties, helping them to continue their academic studies. Over the course of 13 editions, the programme has already provided more than a hundred grants, thanks to contributions from alumni, companies and other organisations.
The Gala will begin at 19.15, in Pátio das Francesinhas, at ISEG. During the evening, the following awards will also be presented: Career Awards and Alumni of the Year Awards, which recognise the achievements and contributions of ISEG alumni.

The Alumni Económicas - ISEG's Alumni Association, together with classmates from the 1992–1996 class, invites all graduates to return to ISEG to celebrate a very special milestone: the 30 Years Since the Graduation of the Class of 1996.
The meeting will take place next 19 September 2026, starting at 17.00, and it will be a unique opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, reminisce about memorable moments, and celebrate the academic and professional journey of a generation that remains connected to ISEG.

The Career Awards and Alumni of the Year Awards are intended to honour up to five ISEG alumni annually with an outstanding professional background, who have demonstrated excellence in their professional development and have held significant roles and responsibilities, either in Portuguese society or abroad, serving as role models for the fields of economics and/or management.

We invite all members of ISEG Alumni Económicas to put forward names of Alumni that deserve to receive the distinction. A proposal can be made for each of the distinctions or just for one of them, attaching a brief justification for the nomination that includes the aspects to be taken into account referred to in Point 3 of the Regulations.

Carla Lima, 28 years old, former Master's in Finance student at ISEG, has been recently honoured by her inclusion in the Forbes Portugal on the "30 Under 30" list, in the Finance category. She currently serves as a Budget Officer at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), where she is pursuing a career in finance.
Forbes Portugal's "30 Under 30" list celebrates young Portuguese talents up to age 30 who are making a name for themselves in a wide variety of fields. This year's edition featured 14 categories and recognised 39 young professionals for their outstanding achievements and impact.
In marking this achievement, Carla Lima made a point of acknowledging the role ISEG played at the start of her professional career. "I feel that this recognition also belongs, in part, to ISEG. My education there and its international reputation were instrumental in the early stages of my career and opened doors for me at institutions such as the European Central Bank, the European Court of Auditors and, currently, NATO", says the former student.
Carla Lima also highlights the importance of the academic guidance she received during her Master’s degree programme. "I am also deeply grateful to have had as my dissertation advisor the current Minister of State and Finance, Professor Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, whose guidance had an extremely positive impact on my academic career“.

ISEG Alumni Económicas - the ISEG Alumni Association - has elected the new governing bodies that will lead the Association for the three-year period 2026-2028. The new leadership, led by Sandra Alvarez, takes over the chair of the Board of Directors in the year that marks the Association's 35th anniversary, bringing institutional continuity and a renewed ambition for growth.
The new team includes professionals of recognised merit in the areas of management, finance, marketing, communication, media and entrepreneurship, all of them alumni of ISEG, committed both to the sustained development of the community and the creation of value for its members throughout their professional lives, as well as to the contribution of this community to wider society.

After the election, which took place on 10 April, the principal mission for this new mandate is clear: to raise the profile of ISEG Alumni Económicas among students, alumni, the academic community and society in general, with the aim of increasing the Association's relevance and performance. For the three-year period, the Board of Directors has defined four guiding strategic objectives:
The mandate's action plan is organised around seven pillars: Communication and Notoriety; Institutional Sponsors and Strategic Partnerships; Community and Membership Growth; Events, Networking and Alumni Experience; Mentoring and Development; Social Impact and Solidarity Programme; and Integration with ISEG/ISEG EE and Students.
This structure is complemented by two strategic support hubs: the International and Thematic Hubs - with plans to expand to four new international hubs, in addition to the existing ones in Angola, Paris, Dublin and London - and the Strategic Boards, which will continue to be active in the areas of Digital Transformation, Health Economics, Entrepreneurship, & Venture Capital and Leadership, with the planned creation of a new Innovation Board.

ISEG Alumni Económicas is the Alumni Association of ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management. It brings together alumni from all ISEG cycles - Bachelor's, Master's and PhD - as well as alumni from ISEG Executive Education. Founded with the aim of maintaining and strengthening the link between alumni and the School, the Association promotes professional development, networking, mentoring and social impact throughout its members' lives. ISEG Alumni Económicas, founded by Professor Eduardo Catroga, turned 35 on 10 April 2026.
The Portuguese Embassy in Paris hosted an unprecedented meeting on 24 March which brought together more than a hundred graduates from four of Portugal's leading higher education institutions: Católica Lisbon, Instituto Superior Técnico, ISEG and Nova SBE.
Promoted by the Portuguese Diaspora Council and AICEP, with the support of the Portuguese Embassy in Paris and Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the purpose of the event was to strengthen links between highly qualified Portuguese professionals working in France and to boost their contribution to Portugal's economic development.
From investment banking to large luxury houses, from strategic consulting to artificial intelligence, Portuguese talent is now positioned where decisions are made. The alumni present represent a qualified and transversal presence in some of the most relevant sectors of the global economy, including financial institutions, consulting, consumer and luxury goods, industry, energy, technology and entrepreneurship.

The representatives of the four institutions highlighted the importance of this initiative as a platform for connecting talent, knowledge and opportunities, underlining the potential of the diaspora as an engine for innovation, growth and internationalisation.
The institutions also agreed to replicate this meeting model in other strategic geographies, strengthening a global network of highly qualified Portuguese alumni and promoting more coordinated action at an international level. This event marks a significant step towards building a global community of Portuguese talent, capable of generating economic impact and strengthening Portugal's presence in the main centres of international decision-making.
“More than preparing excellent professionals, today we have a responsibility to maintain an active connection with the talent we have helped to develop. This global network of alumni is a strategic asset that can, and must, be mobilised to create value for Portugal,” says the Dean of ISEG, Professor João Duque.
The Joint Alumni Meeting in Paris will take place on 25 March 2026, at 19.00, in the Residence of the Portuguese Ambassador in Paris.
This meeting, promoted by AICEP Paris, has the support of ISEG, Instituto Superior Técnico, NOVA SBE, Católica Lisboa and the Portuguese Diaspora Council.
The initiative aims to bring together former students from different institutions, creating a privileged space for socialising, sharing experiences and strengthening professional ties.
Open to all alumni, regardless of their university of origin, the main aim of this event is to promote networking, stimulate partnerships and strengthen the bond between the Portuguese community living in France.
