This Friday, 22 May, ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management is marking its 115th anniversary with an "Arraial" that promises to once again bring together its entire academic community - students, professors, staff, alumni and partners - in a celebration open to the city and its neighbours in the parish of Estrela.
The event, which has already become a tradition on the ISEG campus, is often described by the community itself as the “first Arraial dos Santos Populares” in Lisbon, anticipating the spirit of the city in June. The ISEG Arraial combines music, gastronomy, conviviality and Lisbon culture in an atmosphere that brings together academic tradition and neighbourhood spirit.
Also known as ISEG's “chic party”, due to the campus's privileged location in the heart of Estrela, the event also stands out for its commitment to more sustainable and responsible practices, seeking to reduce waste, encourage reusable solutions and promote a more conscious and inclusive experience.
More than just an academic festival, the ISEG Arraial is a moment of encounter between generations who graduated from the country's first School of Economics and Management and the city of Lisbon. On a campus with more than a century of history, the initiative reinforces the School's connection to the surrounding community and Lisbon's cultural identity.
This year's edition takes on special significance as part of the celebrations for the 115th anniversary of ISEG, one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious economics and management schools, internationally recognised for its Triple Crown distinction - awarded to less than 1% of the world's business schools. The Arraial takes place on the ISEG campus in Lisbon on 22 May, starting in the late afternoon.

ISEG was deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of our former student Rita Fazenda de Oliveira, at the age of 27.
Rita lived the ISEG spirit to the full. For many of those who met her, ISEG became her first home, a place where she built friendships, memories and a presence impossible to forget.
She actively participated in the academic life of ISEG, where she completed a degree in MAEG. She was a member of associations, volunteered and was a regular presence at events that brought the community together. She was recognised for her contagious energy, the genuine way she cared for others and her rare ability to make days lighter, even in the most difficult times.
Those who knew her remember her easy laughter, her straightforwardness, her commitment to her friends and the intense and genuine way she lived every emotion.
At this time of great sorrow, ISEG extends its deepest condolences to Rita's family, friends and all those who had the privilege of sharing her journey.
