ISEG has once again organised a series of workshops, Money Matters, a financial literacy initiative aimed at secondary school students, developed in partnership with the São João do Estoril School Group.
Throughout the 2025/2026 school year, the programme involved around 160 students, with practical sessions dedicated to essential topics such as investment, taxation, budget management and financial decision-making. The initiative sought to help young people understand fundamental concepts for their personal lives and future careers.
The closing session took place at ISEG on 15 April and was attended by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, and included the awarding of diplomas to the participants.
With this second edition, ISEG strengthens its commitment to the promotion of financial literacy and its connection to the community, helping to prepare young people for the challenges of the future.

The formalization of the partnership took place on 9 Aprilby signing a memorandum of understanding among the founding partners: the Instituto Superior Técnico, Higher Institute of Agronomy (ISA)and Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL)and Oeiras City Counciland Tratolixo - inter-municipal company responsible for the treatment of solid urban waste - and the ISEG.
This new Institute is born with the mission of being a center of excellence in the development of services, training and research applied to sustainability, promoting integrated solutions to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.
According toWinnie PicotoISEG's vice-president for sustainability, "the creation of this Institute strengthens the role of higher education institutions in finding interdisciplinary solutions to the complex problems and challenges of the future. Our participation will bring an essential economic and management perspective to ensure that sustainability is achieved with viability, equity and lasting impact'.
It has been confirmed that signed memorandum establishes the general principles of cooperation between the entities involved, providing for the development of joint projects, innovation initiatives and technical and scientific training programs. The next few months will mark the implementation of the Institutewith the definition of its governance structure and the planning of its first activities.
ISEG's participation guarantees the contribution of the economic and management sciences to the construction of sustainable solutions that combine economic viability, social responsibility and respect for environmental limits - fundamental pillars for truly sustainable development.

As of the 30th September, students of Universidade de Lisboa have been able to partake in psychology and nutrition consultations free of charge, thanks to the new Psychologist cheque and Nutritionist's cheque. This is a government initiative aimed at facilitating access to healthcare in higher education.
Students can choose between 297 psychologists and 208 nutritionists from all over the country, with the right to 2 to 12 psychology consultations and 1 to 6 nutrition consultations, subject to a health professionals' assessment.

The undergraduate students of ISEG's degree in Management now have a unique opportunity to obtain a Double Degree, the result of a partnership between ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management and FEA - Faculty of Economics, Business Administration, Accounting and Actuarial Science, Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
This degree offers students the chance to broaden their academic and professional horizons, whilst providing an enriching international experience. In addition, students have the opportunity to strengthen their network of contacts and receive two degree diplomas - one from ISEG and another one from FEA-USP.

In line with its internationalization strategy, ISEG received a delegation from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), signing a Memorandum of Understanding and a Student Exchange Agreement. These agreements will facilitate not only the exchange of students and teachers, but also joint collaboration in research, short-term programs and other opportunities.
The SUFE delegation included Professor Fei Xu, Dean of Kuangshi College; Professor Ziying Fan, Dean of the School of Public Economics and Administration; Professor Jianbin Peng, Director of the Office of Construction and Campus Planning; Professor Xiaodong Jiang, Deputy Director of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office; and Professor Keji Liu, Deputy Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development.
The visit included institutional presentations by SUFE and ISEG, led by the President of ISEG, Professor João Duque; the Vice-Rector of the University of Lisbon, Professor João Peixoto; and the Vice-President for International Affairs, Professor José Veríssimo.
This visit marks the first milestone in this collaboration.
