Nick Bridge, UK Head of Climate Diplomacy, is the fifth guest speaker in the series of eight episodes of the "Descomplicar as Finanças Sustentáveis" (Uncomplicating Sustainable Finance) podcast, a partnership between the JE, ISEG's Sustainable Finance Centre, and the British Embassy in Lisbon.

"COP negotiations and sustainable finance" is the topic of this episode, when the speaker will address the fact that the dynamics of the economy are already on the path to decarbonization and that this path - of which China and India are examples - has become irreversible.

Through conversations with relevant professionals in British and Portuguese sustainable finance, we aim to showcase the role of the financial sector in effectively combating climate change by supporting government and business decarbonisation efforts.

Protocol for the creation of LAB JUSTICE signed at ISEG

The Minister of Justice, Catarina Sarmento e Castro, and the Secretary of State for Justice, Pedro Ferrão Tavares, participate in the signing ceremony of the protocol that establishes the collaboration between Justice, through the Institute of Financial Management and Justice Equipment (IGFEJ), ISEG and Nova SBE, for the development of an advanced program of innovation and culture, called LAB JUSTICE.

One hundred managers attend advanced program on innovation and culture tailored by ISEG and Nova SBE.

The advanced program of innovation and culture - LAB JUSTICE, developed by ISEG and Nova SBE for about a hundred leaders and project managers of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) of all services and entities in the sphere of justice, starts in October.

The collaboration protocol between Justice, through the Financial Management and Equipment Institute of Justice (IGFEJ), and the higher education institutions was signed today, in the presence of the Minister of Justice, the Secretaries of State for Justice and Higher Education, and the Deans of the two Schools.

This will be the first program created from scratch and designed to meet the real and current challenges of organizations and entities in the area of Justice, aiming to offer more agile, accessible and focused on the needs of people and companies. To this end, the program focuses on three main strategic pillars: Strategic Management, Digital Transition and Leadership in a Changing Context.

LAB JUSTICE's main objective will be to train the services for a more efficient implementation of the RRP, whose funding - 266 million euros - is a historic opportunity for transformation in justice, with an ambitious agenda of reforms and innovative projects already underway.

The Program has a total duration of 80 hours, spread over 17 weeks. In a first stage, LAB JUSTICE is intended for leaders and PRR project managers from all services and entities in the sphere of justice - IGFEJ, IRN, DGPJ, PJ, CEJ, DGRSP, IGSJ, DGAJ, SGMJ, INMLCF, INPI, eBUPi, CAAJ, CPVC, as well as the Superior Council of Magistracy, Superior Council of the TAF, the Attorney General's Office and the Council of Justices of the Peace - with plans to expand to other participants and to new profiles and needs, in articulation with the transversal programs of skills for public innovation.

This training of the Justice Department's staff will allow for greater speed in launching initiatives and less dependence on external teams to carry them out, by promoting the transfer of internal knowledge and the adoption of projects by the services.

The innovative character of LAB JUSTICE and its potential for good practice is being followed with interest by international organizations such as the OECD.
