The 3rd edition of the “Introduction to Meditation at the University” programme is open until March 6th.
The aim is simple: to help you deal better with the stress, gain more focus and take care of your well-being during your academic life.
The sessions are weekly, completely online, and last 8 weeks. You'll receive expert guidance and learn how to include meditation in your routine in a practical and uncomplicated way.
This course is your chance to try out meditation as a tool for healing. self-care, emotional balance and personal development. It will help you feel better on a daily basis and gain more energy and focus for your academic success.

Universidade de Lisboa has organised a Welcome Session for Students from Portuguese-speaking Countries who have begun their academic career at ULisboa this year, on 4 March, from 18.00 to 19.30, in the Salão Nobre (Great Hall) of the Rectorate.
It is aimed at students from all study cycles: Bachelor's, Master's and PhD. Although specially designed for students arriving this academic year, colleagues who have been studying in Lisbon for many years are also very welcome.
Attendance at the Welcome Session requires registration , using the form.

The applications period for the 3 Thesis Minutes - ULisboa 2026 competion is open until 15 February!
Who is it for?
The following are eligible for the 3MT Competition: students enrolled in a PhD degree at Universidade de Lisboa from the 3rd year onwards (inclusive). The challenge is to explain the impact of their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes and using a single slide.
What are the prizes?
1st place - €5,000
2nd place - €2,000
3rd place - €1,000
Candidates in Phase 1 will receive a Science Communication Training and a certificate of participation. The Phase 2 finalists and prize-winners will also be awarded diplomas in recognition of their merit.

The deadline for Alumni Solidarity Scholarships of the Association of Former Students of the University of Lisbon (Alumni ULisboa) will open applications soon.

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning processes poses new challenges to assessment practices and opens up new pedagogical perspectives. The Inov@U Days offer a space for critical reflection on the impact of AI on assessment, exploring the challenges, perspectives and opportunities of the technology.
Theoretical perspectives and concrete pedagogical experiences will be discussed, including the reliability of assessment instruments, academic integrity and the role of the professor, where technology is no longer just a resource, but takes on an active role in the teaching and learning process.

Launched in 2025, the PhD in Planetary Health of Universidade de Lisboa is designed to enable students to make original and significant contributions to the field of Planetary Health.
This degree integrates skills from all 19 Schools of the University, with a diverse faculty representing a wide range of specialties and perspectives.
The PhD is organised into six distinct specialties: Climate Change and Health; Global Health; Health in Extreme Environments; Policies and Governance in Planetary Health; Tropical Health and Urban Health.

The report analyzes the impact of ULisboa's entrepreneurial ecosystem, identifying more than 1,000 startups founded by students, researchers, faculty and alumni, with a presence in more than 40 countries and an aggregate valuation of more than 24 billion euros. The study also highlights more than 170 academic spin-offs and around 4 billion euros in investment raised.
The session includes a technical presentation of the report and a panel discussion with government representatives, leaders of the national innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and ULisboa alumni entrepreneurs.

The ULisboa/CGD Scientific Awards, created in partnership with Caixa Geral de Depósitos. (CGD), not only recognise the quality of the research carried out at ULisboa, but also encourage international publication of quality and impact.
PhD professors and researchers who have been carrying out research at ULisboa for at least two years may apply, in accordance with the regulations. These awards are an opportunity to involve and inspire the entire academic community.

The deadline for University Economics Olympics, organized by The Order of Economists they're back!
This competition is aimed at students with degrees in Economics, Management, Accounting and related areas, This will provide a competitive, enriching academic experience and contact with the national economic community.
The Olympics take place in two phases. A University Phase, corresponding to 1st race, takes place in February 2026, at each participating higher education institution. In ISEG, The first race will take place at the february 9th, 2026, at 6pm. The registration is open until february 2, 2026.
The best finishers in the university phase go on to the National Phase, whose the final exam will be held on April 10 and 11, 2026, in Coimbra.
