Encouraging the adoption of innovative practices and educational models capable of responding to current pedagogical challenges, the University of Lisbon is launching a call for funding for Pedagogical Innovation Projects.
You can apply ULisboa teachers and researchersThe project will be carried out individually or in teams of up to five. Each project will have maximum funding of €2,000 (two thousand euros).

Next Wednesday, March 19th, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, the University of Lisbon Health and Well-being Center is organizing a Outdoor Functional Training, as part of the Mental Health and Well-being Promotion Program at ULisboa.
Aimed at the University of Lisbon academic community, the training, which will take place at 'Polidesportivo' Number 3 of the Universitary Stadium, will be composed of several exercises to develop strength, endurance and flexibility, while providing mental well-being and contact with nature.
Participation in the training is subject to prior registration, costing 1,18€ for payment of the sports activity insurance. After registrating by email, an ATM reference for payment of the insurance will be sent.

The March 18th, from 12h00 and 14h00, the ULisboa Health and Well-being Center is organizing a Monsanto Trail Walkwithin the framework of the Mental Health and Well-being Promotion Program at ULisboa.
Aimed at the University of Lisbon's academic community, the walk, at a leisurely pace, will start at the Ajuda Sports Complex reception, located on the Ajuda Campus, passing by viewpoints, leisure areas, sports parks and gardens of the Monsanto Forest Park.

On March 11, at 9:30 a.m., the University of Lisbon will host the event "Sustainability 360º - 1st ULisboa Sustainability Meeting", an initiative dedicated to the presentation of projects, actions and good practices developed by ULisboa Schools.
The main goal of the meeting is to promote constructive discussion on ULisboa's strategy in the field of sustainability and highlight good practices in schools, presented by the Student Unions.
During the event, ULisboa's Sustainability Network (RedeSUSTENTA) will be presented, which aims to foster cooperation between ULisboa's academic community, in order to promote a coordinated response to the pressing challenges of sustainable development and the dissemination of solutions and good practices, with a view to meeting national and international sustainability targets.
The program includes a round table to debate the 'Sustainability 360' theme.
The 'Conversations with Humor', with the participation of Pedro Teixeira da Mota, will bring moments of good cheer among the academic community. There will also be a 'Showcooking', with Chef Marco Fonseca and nutritionist Tatiana Pereira, which will explore creative and sustainable solutions in the field of healthy eating, followed by a food tasting session.
The event will also include prize money awards, which will reward the best videos and posters from the Student Unions, on the initiatives with the greatest impact in the field of sustainability.

Under the terms of the Alumni Solidarity Scholarships, on Association ofAlumni - Alumni ULisboa calls for funding for three bags.
This regulation covers all 1st cycle students at the University of LisbonThe scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate merit in their academic performance and who can prove that they have financial difficulties to ensure their regular attendance at higher education. The scholarship is a one-off cash payment of 700€ (seven hundred euros), intended to cover the costs of attending a course in higher education, in accordance with the Scholarship Regulations.

The application acceptance phase of the "3 Minute Thesis - ULisboa 2025" competition takes place from February 3rd to February 16th.
The University of Lisbon's 3MT academic competition is aimed at developing the unique skills of PhD students.It's about explaining complex ideas in a creative and easy to understand way, for different audiences, in just three minutes.
In 2025's edition, in 180 seconds and using a single slide,the participants will have to explain the impact of their research to a non-specialist audience.
For this competition, are ellegible all the PhD students enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a 3rd cycle of studies integrated into the curricular offer of the University of Lisbon.
The first phase (selection) participants will receive Science Communication Training and a certificate of participation. The finalists and prize-winners of the second phase (final competition) will also receive diplomas of recognition of merit.

Born in Coimbra in 1956, António Cruz Serra is currently an executive director of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, where he has held office since 12 May, 2022.
From 1978 to 2022, he was a Full Professor in the scientific area of Electronics of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa.
He was the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa from 2013 to 2021, and the Rector of the Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa from 2012 to 2013, as well as being the Chair of the Instituto Superior Técnico from 2009 to 2012, Deputy Chair for Administrative Affairs of the Instituto Superior Técnico from 2002 to 2008, a Member of the Executive Committee for Fusion for Energy from 2007 to 2009, Chair of IMEKO - the International Measurement Confederation from 2009 to 2012, Chair of the Board of Directors of Taguspark SA from 2010 to 2014, and Chair of 'Cluster - Consortium Linking Science and Technology Universities for Education and Research' from 2010 to 2012.
He was also a researcher at the Biomechanics Group of the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência from 1979 to 1981, a researcher at the Centre for Electrotechnics of the Instituto Superior Técnico of Universidade de Lisboa from 1982 to 1994, and a researcher at the Telecommunications Institute from 1994 to 2024.
In addition, he was also a member of various evaluation panels for scientific research projects in the field of Electronic Instrumentation, which were candidates for funding from various European Union framework programmes, as well as from government agencies in Portugal, the Czech Republic, Italy and Poland.
From 1993 to 2022, hetaught Electronics subjects for the Navy School's degree in Weapons and Electronics.
He has a PhD (1992) and a Masters (1985) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Universidade do Porto (1978).
He is the lead author of more than 200 scientific publications .

The elections for the above-mentioned bodies of Universidade de Lisboa will be held from 13 March to 1 April, 2025.
The General Board is the University's strategic decision-making and supervisory body, whereas the Senate acts as a consultative body in representation of both the academic community and the schools that constitute Universidade de Lisboa.

The Scientific Awards were established by ULisboa in collaboration with Caixa Geral de Depósitos.The aim is to reward scientific research activity and encourage the practice of international publication of recognised quality and impact and is aimed at professors and PhD researchers with an active contract on the closing date for applications, as well as post-doctoral fellows who have been carrying out research at the Universidade de Lisboa for at least two years, reside in Portugal and meet the requirements set out in the Regulation.
