The Scientific Awards were established by ULisboa in collaboration with Caixa Geral de Depósitos.The aim is to reward scientific research activity and encourage the practice of international publication of recognised quality and impact. Those eligible are members of faculty and researchers with a PhD who are in full time employment at the time of the application deadline, as well as post-doc grant-assisted researchers who have been carrying out research at Universidade de Lisboa for at least two years, providing they are resident in Portugal and meet the requirements set out in the Rules and Regulations.

The deadline for Alumni Solidarity Scholarships 2023 is open from the 15th January up until the 12th February, 2024.
The ULisboa Alumni Association is calling for applications for a merit-based scholarship which is governed by the Rules and Regulations, which are available online. These Rules and Regulations cover all those 1st Cycle Universidade de Lisboa students who demonstrate merit in their academic performance and who can prove that they have financial difficulties in ensuring their regular attendance of higher education study.
A scholarship is a cash benefit designed to cover the costs of studying for a higher education degree.
Applications are submitted online, using this form, together with the requested supporting documentation.
The The Prémio Universidade de Lisboa prize is awarded every year to distinguish the merit of an outstanding individual who has made a notable contribution to the progress of Science and/or Culture, as well as the international projection of Portugal. The monetary value of the prize is €25,000 (twenty-five thousand euros), which is sponsored and entirely paid for by the Caixa Geral de Depósitos..

Enrolment is now open for the Entrepreneurship Education Programme of Universidade de Lisboa, aimed at undergraduate, Masters or PhD students of ULisboa who are looking to develop new skills and new entrepreneurial ideas. Universidade de Lisboa is promoting the Scientific Conferences 2023 , on the theme of "Open Science and Innovation: a collaborative, transparent and accessible approach” which will take place on June 27th, in the Rectorate of Universidade de Lisboa
Open Science represents an approach to science that is collaborative, transparent and accessible, facilitating the sharing and communication of processes and results. Open Science encompasses a wide range of activities, including open access publishing, open data, and open peer review. Furthermore, it also includes open innovation and citizen science, or more broadly, the involvement of stakeholders, where companies and other partners, including citizens, participate directly in the research.
The programme of the second edition of the Universidade de Lisboa Scientific Journeys includes guest speakers and sessions dedicated to the topics of "Open Access, Data and Infrastructures", "Open Innovation and Interdisciplinarity" and "Citizen Science"., with the objective to raise awareness and promote open science practices among the community of faculty and researchers, science managers, students, and the public in general.

As part of the commemorations of ULisboa's 10th Anniversary, the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Luís Ferreira, invites you to participate in the ULisboa, 10 Years, 10 Visits programme which includes a series of 90-minute tours and 3-hour tours of the University's iconic spaces.
These visits will be guided by top experts and open to the academic community and also to members of the public and citizens of Lisboa, from the 13th May, 2023 through to 20th July, , 2024.
The Visits and Tours are free of charge, with prior registration up to 24 hours before the visit, for a maximum of 20 participants.
