Cinema and Decolonisation Cycle | Screening of the film '48'

The 8 February, in 2nd session of the Cinema and Decolonisation Cycle, an initiative that is taking place in parallel with the Deconstructing Colonialism, Decolonizing the Imaginaryexhibition at the National Anthropology Museum. Come along to ISEG to watch the documentary entitled '48', by Susana Sousa Dias (2010, Portugal, 93 min.).

The screening will take place in Auditorium 2 at ISEG, at 10.00. Free admission. This will be followed by a debate with the participation of artists involved in the making of the documentary, as well as researchers and moderators appointed by CEsA - Centre for African and Development Studies (to be confirmed).

About the documentary
What can a photograph of a face reveal about a political system? What can an image taken more than 35 years ago say about our current situation? Based on a group of photographs of political prisoners from the Portuguese dictatorship (1926-1974),48seeks to depict the mechanisms through which an authoritarian system attempted to perpetuate itself.
