Antena 2 Concert | Mal de Amor | CANCELLED

On February 6th (Thursday), the second Antena 2 concert of 2025 will take place at ISEG, with the soprano Ana Sofia Ventura, the half-soprano Rita Coelho, as well as the pianist Daniel Godinho.

Attend this free concert which will delight classical music lovers, whose line-up includes works by Henry Purcell, Richard Strauss and Camille Saint-Saëns.

We look forward to seeing you at ISEG's CGD Auditorium, located on the 2nd Floor of the Quelhas Building.

Biography | Ana Sofia Ventura | Soprano

She completed her degree at the Lisbon School of Music and later joined the International Opera Academy in Ghent, Belgium. He made his debut at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Sérgio Azevedo's opera "O Rouxinol", in the roles of "Rouxinol" and "Rouxinol mecânico".

She recently premiered the opera "Madrugada: razões de um movimento", co-produced by MPMP and the Algarve Orchestra.

Her operatic roles include the Mozartian roles "Königin der Nacht", "Susanna" and "Zerlina". She also played "Mrs. T." in "Manifesto Nada" by A. Sousa Dias, "Cathleen" in "Riders to the Sea" by V. Williams, "Belinda" in "Dido and Aeneas" by H. Purcell, "Cephisa" in "Orpheus" by G. P. Telemann. Telemann, the "Civene" in "Le Cinesi" by C. W. Gluck, among others.

She took part in the modern premiere of "La Ninfa del Tago" by A. Scarlatti, in the role of "Tirsi", with the OML under the direction of Enrico Onofri, took part as well in the "4th Symphony" by G. Mahler, under the direction of Miguel Romea, and in "Carmina Burana" by C. Orff, with the "Orquestra Filarmónica das Beiras", under the direction of Jan Wierzba.

In the context of oratorio, she performed ‘The Messiah’ by G. F. Händel, ‘Messe in h-Moll’ and ‘Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht’ by J. S. Bach, ‘Lauda per la Navità del Signore’ by O. Respighi as ‘Angel’, ‘Wie der Hirsch Schreit, der 42. Psalm’ by F. Mendelssohn, ‘Stabatango’ by M. Palmeri as ‘Angel’. Respighi as ‘Angel’, ‘Wie der Hirsch Schreit, der 42. Psalm’ by F. Mendelssohn, ‘Misatango’ by M. Palmeri, ‘Stabat Mater’ by G.B. Pergolesi, among others.

She has attended training courses with Bernarda Fink, Nathalie Dessay, Mariella Devia, Laurent Naouri, José van Dam, Linda Watson, Jill Feldman, Yvonne Minton, Alfredo Abbatti, Wim Henderickx and Alberto Zedda.

Biography | Rita Coelho | Mid-Soprano

Rita Coelho, who was born in Lisbon, began her singing career at the National Conservatoire, in the class of Professor Manuela de Sá. She later completed a degree in singing with Professor Isabel Alcobia, at the University of Aveiro.

Throughout her career, she has worked with Lúcia Lemos, Orlanda Velez Isidro, David Santos, Jill Feldman, Ulrike Sonntag, João Paulo Santos, Helen Lawson, Brian MacKay, Pierre Mak and Anna Samuil.

Within the operatic repertoire, he has already performed "Second Witch" in "Dido and Aeneas" by H. Purcell, "Nicklausse" in "The Tales of Hoffmann" by J. Offenbach, "Kate Pinkerton" in "Madama Butterfly" and "La maestra delle novizie" in "Suor Angelica" by G. Puccini, "Mrs. Nolan" in "The Medium" by G-C Menotti and "Mercedes" in "Carmen" by G. Bizet.

Since 2021, she has been a member of the Choir of the São Carlos National Theatre, in the half-soprano section.

Biography | Daniel Godinho | Pianist

Daniel Godinho has performed as a pianist in Spain, France, Holland and the United Kingdom, as well as Portugal - including important events such as the Mafra International Music Festival, the Coimbra Arts Festival, the CisterMúsica Festival in Alcobaça, the Encontros Sonoros Atlânticos Festival and numerous concerts for Antena 2.

In 2014, he recorded his first CD with soprano Inês Simões - dedicated to Iberian song repertoire - and at the end of 2024, they released a second album with Portuguese music from the 21st century.

He was an accompanying pianist at the Piaget Institute and the Lisbon School of Music and is currently a teacher at the National Conservatory's School of Music. He has accompanied in various national competitions, such as the 'Prémio Jovens Músicos', the 'Prémio de Interpretação do Estoril' and the 'Fundação Rotária Portuguesa Lyric Singing Competition'.

His passion for vocal and choral music has led him to collaborate with various choirs, including the Gulbenkian Choir, and to develop ongoing work with soprano Inês Simões - exploring a wide-ranging repertoire of songs, including music from the 20th and 21st centuries. He has also worked with many other young lyric singers.

He studied at 'Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa' and 'Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra', where he was a pupil of Alexei Eremine. He specialised in Lied accompaniment in 2007, at the Amsterdam Conservatory and in 2010, at the Deutsche Lied Akademie in Trossingen.

He went on to perfect his vocal repertoire as a pianist with the musicians Rudolf Jansen, Axel Bauni, Eugene Asti, Udo Reinemann, Jan Philip Schulze, David Selig, José Brandão and Sarah Walker.
