Manouchka is the most prestigious band playing the music of Django Reinhardt in Portugal and the only one with international recognition. Having performed all over the country, including Lisbon, Coimbra, Ericeira, Mértola and Miranda do Douro, they have soundtracked live Lindy Hop and Balboa dance events, festivals and private parties nationwide. They were invited to participate in the largest Gypsy Jazz Festival in South America, in São Paulo, Brazil and have also performed in Spain and France.
Led by Nuno Marinho on guitar, who has been dedicated to promoting the genre in Portugal since 2014, and with the Ukrainian virtuoso violinist Marian Yanchyk, they regularly receive national and international guests. This is how the friendship with Ricardo Quintas, clarinetist, came about, who integrates the group both in Trio and in broader formats that include musicians from all over the world.
Manouchka mixes 1930s Paris Swing with traditional Eastern music, Lisbon Fado, American Rock, and all the inspiration that the international musicians invited by the band offer.
