Paulo Pedrassoli | Guitar (Guitar)

Paulo Pedrassoli is one of the most respected Brazilian artists of his generation, possessing a very personal style that combines technique and emotion with a unique, robust and orchestral sound.
Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he holds a Master's degree in Music (from UFRJ) and is currently attending a PhD in Performance at the University of Aveiro.
He has developed an intense artistic career as a soloist, chamber musician and music director.
Performing in several countries such as France (Paris), United States (Los Angeles), Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Nasu, Fujisawa and Okayama), Germany (Ulm), Australia (Sydney), Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Alcobaça, Braga, Aveiro, Oliveira de Azeméis, Nisa and Fundão), India (New Delhi and Chandigard), Caribbean (Barbados), Paraguay (Asunción) and Morocco (Rabat), besides the most important concert halls in Brazil.
His discography includes the CD "Heitor Villa-Lobos: Obra Integral para Violão Solo", recorded in Germany (Karlsruhe) and enthusiastically received by national and international specialized critics as one of the best recordings of the Villalobian integral.
The American magazine The Absolute Sound hails this recording as "a marvelous work" and the English magazine Classical Guitar announces that "Pedrassoli offers a world-class interpretation, which could serve as a reference for all others".
Pedrassoli also recorded the CD "Arpeggione" with the Polish cellist Zygmunt Kubala, which obtained from Guitar Player magazine the statement that "the meeting of two great artists can result in exceptional music".
His most recent release is the CD "Roberto Victorio: obras para violão por Paulo Pedrassoli", dedicated to the music of this contemporary Brazilian composer.
