Pedro Costa, piano

 

In 2013 he won the 1st Prize at the Estoril Interpretation Competition, the "Helena Sá e Costa Prize" and the 2nd Prize at the New Tenuto Competition in Belgium. He was also the winner of the Florinda Santos Competition (2012), the International City of Fundão Competition (2012), the "ConCursos" Competition in Aveiro (2011), the "Lopes-Graça Prize" in Tomar (2008) and the Santa Cecília Competition in Porto (2007). As an active chamber musician, he is a founding member of Duo-Concertante and Perspective Trio with which he won, respectively, the ConCursos Prize (2011) in Aveiro, and recently the Young Musicians Prize (2015) of RDP. As such, he has been performing solo recitals, chamber music and singing accompaniment in several concert halls in Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Germany and Italy. She has played in Music Festivals such as the Aveiro Fall Festival, Harmos Classical in Porto, Espinho Music Festival, Cistermúsica in Alcobaça, Young Musicians Festival, Póvoa do Varzim International Festival and L'Europe en Musique Festival in Brussels. He also had the opportunity to play solo in front of orchestras such as Orkest der Lage Landen, Koninklijk Muziekkapel van de Gidsen, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Sinfonieta da ESMAE and Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras, under the direction of conductors such as Walter Proost, Yves Segers, António Saiote, Luís Carvalho and Zvonimir Hacko. She works regularly with singers such as Ana Caseiro, Sarah Defrise, Artur Rosek, Sara Amorim, Noora Karhuluoma and Julietta Kochorova. Born in Macau in 1989. She started studying piano at the age of 7 with teacher Suzana Ralha at the Cultural Association "Os Gambozinos" and later at the Porto Conservatory of Music with teacher Anne Marie Soares. In 2007 she finished the Professional School of Music of Espinho where she studied 3 years with Professor Fausto Neves. He completed the Degree in Piano at the Superior School of Music, Arts and Performance of Porto in the class of Professor Luís Filipe Sá. He finished with distinction the Master in Piano at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (Belgium), with Professor Piet Kuijken, where he had already studied one year, under the ERASMUS program, with Professor Daniel Blumenthal. She is currently attending a specialized master's degree in Liedgestaltung at the Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria) in the class of Professor Joseph Breinl. She has also studied with Akiko Ebi, Álvaro Teixeira Lopes, Constantin Sandu, Katia Veekmans, Luís Moura Castro, Miguel Borges Coelho, Pedro Burmester and Sequeira Costa. In the last three years he has participated in the International Lied Master Classes in Brussels, led by singers Udo Reinemann and Christianne Stotijn, where he also had the opportunity to work with musicians such as Peter Schreier, Ann Murray, Hartmut Höll, Mistuko Shirai, Joseph Breinl, David Selig, Urszula Kryger, Wolfgang Holzmair, Juilus Drake, Christoph Pregardien, among others.
