The piano duo "Goffredo Petrassi" was born in March this year and traces its roots back to the great piano school of Lya De Barberiis, a didactic-artistic tradition that, through Alfredo Casella, can be traced back to the French school of Debussy, Ravel and Fauré. The two artists met in 2001 as part of the annual piano training courses run by Lya De Barberiis at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice. Since then, each has pursued his own path as a soloist and chamber pianist until they decided to establish a duo which, in addition to piano for four hands, includes programs with two pianos and two pianos and orchestra. The duo made its debut in Lisbon in April of this year with a concert given by the Ginasio Opera Association at the Palácio Foz, to critical and public acclaim. The duo then performed in Roman castles (Teatro Petrolini in Castel Gandolfo and Villa Tuscolana in Frascati) and in Sicily. This concert brings to a close a tour that has included performances in Italy, in Foligno at the Auditorio "San Domenico" in Foligno, at the "Libero Bizarri" Foundry in San Benedetto del Tronto and at the "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina" Foundry.
