From 13 to 14 November 2025, there will be the ISEG Gender Lab Workshop, an initiative co-organised by Gender Justice Working Group of the EADI - European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes, in partnership CEsA/ISEG Research and research groups in Development Studies and Sustainable Transitions and Economic Sociology, Organisations and Work, of ISEG Research.
The meeting will take place in the Delta Room.
The deadline for registration is until 30 September via this online form. Although the event is free to attend, places are limited.
A space for research-activism
The Gender Lab aims to be more than just a traditional academic meeting, it is to be a research and activism laboratory. For a day and a half, early and mid-career researchers, practitioners and activists will share perspectives and build collaborative networks around the gender justice in the Global South.
The programme includes interactive sessions with keynote speakers, co-creation labs and collaborative dialogues, on topics such as:
- gender-based violence;
- care work and women's roles;
- political and economic participation;
- entrepreneurship and intersectionality;
- decolonial feminist methodologies;
- the impact of initiatives by different actors on gender-sensitive development.
The event will also feature innovative formats for sharing knowledge, such as the development of podcasts, visual storytelling and mentoring clinics, promoting synergies between academia and activism.
Building communities for the future
This workshop is part of a strategy for strengthening the community of researchers in Development Studies, preparing the ground for future meetings, such as the EADI Annual Conference, to be held in July 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The initiative is supported by EADI Innovation Fund, by ISEG Research and Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
The complete programme and further information is available at EADI website.
