Economics Degree Seminar | Portugal: What social balance?

ISEG is organizing the following day March 12th, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., in Amphitheatre 3 (F2), the seminar “Portugal: What social balance?”, within the framework of the Seminar Degree in Economics, with the participation of Professor Susana Peralta, by Nova SBE.

This seminar aims to promote reflection on the Portuguese social reality, The event will address the main challenges and trends in the country's economic and social context. The initiative aims to encourage academic debate and the sharing of perspectives between students, teachers and the interested public.

At the Table with the Future of HR - Breakfasts for Big Decisions

As part of the ISEG Executive Master's Degree in Human Resources Management Transformation, developed in partnership with SHL Portugal, will take place on the March 17th, from 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., in ISEG Rooftop, a breakfast dedicated to the theme “Personal Influence for HRM”

Integrated into the cycle “At the Table with the Future of HR - Breakfasts for Big Decisions”, This session will be attended by professors Paulo Lopes Henriques and David Dias and aims to promote the sharing of perspectives and practical tools on the strategic role of personal influence in Human Resources Management.

Participation is free, subject to register in advance.

Mindfulness and Qi Gong Workshop

Develop your ability to concentrate and, consequently, your intuition, your perception of events and decision-making skills in life's most difficult situations. Achieve a balance between body and mind and learn how to manage stress and improve your health and quality of life.

In this workshop, Professor João Carvalho das Neves (ISEG) combines the theory and practice of Mindfulness. The course includes energy management exercises (chi-kung) to improve your health and wellbeing, giving you tools for your daily life, with moments of interaction to clarify questions and doubts. The workshop is led by a Certified Teacher in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction by the University of California San Diego Center for Mindfulness Professional Training Institute and is an accredited Instructor in Chi-Kung by the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Lisbon).

Free admission, but places are limited. To take part in the workshop, please register by email to ritasilvacosta@hotmail.com.

Participants should preferably bring a yoga mat and a few items to share for lunch and socialising.

Workshop | Planting of the ISEG Mini-Forest

After the hustle and bustle of the last session - for which we would like to sincerely thank all the participants - we are continuing the work of planting ISEG's mini-forest.

On 10 and 12 March, from 10.00 to 17.00, we are back on the ground to complete this initiative. Participation is simple: just show up on time and join in the planting.

Any help is welcome and makes a difference! It is essential to finish this process before spring arrives, ensuring that the plants have time to root properly before starting their growth, flowering and fruiting cycle.

Development Studies Seminars 2026 | Financing Firm Growth: The Role of Capital Markets in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

CEsA - ISEG's Centre for African and Development Studies is holding another session of the cycle Development Studies Seminars 2026, dedicated to the theme “Financing Firm Growth: The Role of Capital Markets in Low- and Middle-Income Countries”.

The seminar will address the role of capital markets in financing business growth in low- and middle-income countries, discussing how access to financial instruments can support investment, business expansion and economic development.

The initiative is part of CEsA/ISEG's regular seminar programme dedicated to development studies and is open to students and researchers interested in the subject.
