EWMD Portugal - European Organization for the Development of Management Skills in Women - 4th Seminar "Ethical and Moral Dimension in Organizations"
Guest speaker: Prof. Dr. Fernando Ribeiro Mendes

Instead of being a passing fad, as many had predicted, business ethics and socially responsible management practices have established a new paradigm for the profit sector. The current international financial crisis has also reinforced this demand by casting doubt on the management and governance of many companies. Business ethics and good socially responsible management practices are therefore increasingly necessary for business sustainability, as they provide a guaranteed return for all stakeholders in the life of the company.

EWMD Portugal is a non-profit organization whose vision is to contribute to the creation of a society with greater gender diversity, with the active participation of women and men in the management of organizations and in the development of professional careers that consider the fundamental balance between professional and private life.

In this way, it seeks to inspire organizations to implement internal gender diversity policies in order to promote the active participation of female talent in senior management. This active participation requires that women develop the necessary skills to play this role in organizations.
