At the start of another academic year, the CSG resumes its regular cafés-sciencia with the next edition of these meetings dedicated to ISEG's PhD degrees, hosted by the four research centres that make up CSG - Research in Social Sciences: the PhD in Management (ADVANCE), the PhD in Development Studies (CESA), PhD Program in Economic and Social History (GHES), and the PhD in Economic and Organisational Sociology (SOCIUS).
"Our PhD degrees: what do they have in common?" is the theme of the meeting that will take place on the 24th October, at 18.00 on the ISEG Rooftop.
The session will present the recently created CSG - PhD Student Network.

The Associations are the link between students and the job market and voluntary organizations, and allow students to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their degree.
From October 7 to 13, ISEG will be introducing the student community to its 11 Associations, from a wide range of areas.
During the 5 days, they will be present at their respective stands, where they will have direct contact with the students. Throughout the week, they will also be able to attend informative debates and will have the opportunity to take part in speed dating activities, which will prepare them for future recruitment processes.

CEsA and ISEG, in partnership with ACEP - Association for Cooperation between Peoples and Cultures of Resistance, have the honour to announce the screening for the first time in Portugal of the documentary "Unidas por Bissau (Nô Kumpu Guiné): Agroecologia e feminismo na Guiné Bissau" (United for Bissau: Agroecology and feminism in Guinea-Bissau), followed by a conversation with the director, Iara Lee.
The screening will take place on the 10th October, at 18.00, in Auditorium 2 at Quelhas.

Synopsis

In October, Alumni Económicas will begin a monthly Lunch-Debates cycle at ISEG.
The first guest will be alumnus Eduardo Catroga, who will talk to us about "Perspectives and Challenges for the European Economy and the Portuguese Economy".

As part of World Investor Week, with the support of ISEG, the CMVM will host a session on the 10th October, from 14.30 to 15.45, designed for 1st and 2nd Cycle students on the topic of "How to invest in an increasingly digital world?"
This event will feature a talk by Bárbara Barroso, an ISEG student and founder of the Literacy and Financial Education Laboratory Money Lab. The talk will be followed by two panel discussions with the objective to assist students decide on how to invest and discuss investing in an increasingly digital world, where opportunities and risks coexist.

The SWC PORTUGAL is organising the 1st STEM Women meeting in Portugal, to be held at ISEG on the 17th October (Caixa Geral de Depósitos Auditorium).
The aim of this Association is to contribute to equal opportunities for men and women in all sectors, with a particular focus on the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, helping to further SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) and helping to increase the visibility of women in the business world.
