On March 8, at 4 p.m., the CSG Consortium - Research in Social Sciences and Management of ISEG will mark International Women's Day and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated annually on February 11, in ISEG's Auditorium 2. Coffee-Science which will bring together researchers from different generations, scientific fields, research backgrounds and nationalities to share their experiences, challenges and aspirations as scientists.
The session, which will be attended by the Vice-Rector of the University of Lisbon, Cecília Rodrigues, will be moderated by journalist Nicolau Santos, Director of RTP and ISEG alumnus.
The Café-ciência will be opened by the President of ISEG, João Duque, and Sara Falcão Casaca, Coordinator of ISEG's Social Sciences and Management Research Consortium - CSG.

The lecture "Learning from Cycling Histories: Boom, Busts, and Renewal", as part of the project Hi-BicLab - History Lab for Sustainable Urban Mobilities: Lisbon's cycling policies.
The guest speaker is Ruth Oldenziel, professor at the Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands) and consultant for the project. Ruth Oldenziel is a renowned technology historian and editor of the book collection Cycling Cities, which will integrate the Lisbon case (one of the results of the project).
The Hi-BicLab project is funded by FCTto which ISEG and UECE/REM are associated as partners.
The event will take place on the ISEG Terrace between 17:00 and 19:00.

Don't miss the broadcast of the movie "Sleepwalking Land" (Teresa Prata, 2007, Fiction, 96 min, Portuguese), on February 25, at 10 a.m., in ISEG's Auditorium 2.
The screening will be followed by a debate with writer Mia Couto (online participation), filmmaker Camilo de Sousa and poet and journalist Luís Carlos Patraquim.
The screening of the film is part of the "Cycle of Cinema and Decolonization: Mozambique in Focus", organized by the CESA.

The Centre for Studies on Africa and Development (CEsA/CSG/ISEG/ULisboa) is honored to announce the screening of one of the first forays into post-independence Mozambican film production, "The wind blows from the north" (José Cardoso, 1987, Fiction, 101 min, Portuguese).
The film will be shown free of charge on January 28, 2023, at 10h, in ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management (Auditorium 2).
This will be followed by a debate with Mozambican filmmaker Camilo de Sousa and CEsA researchers Joana Pereira Leite and Carlos Nuno Castel-Branco.
The movie will be played in Portuguese.

On December 15th, a session of the Books of Our Time Debate Cyclededicated to the work The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity (2021), by David Graeber and David Wengrow. The book will be commented on by researcher Inês Faria (ISEG) and archaeologist Sara Simões (UNIARQ - Archaeology Center, Ulisboa), and moderated by professor Daniel Seabra Lopes (ISEG).
The session starts at 3pm, in Auditorium 2 (Ed. Quelhas, 2nd floor).

The Cycle of Books of Our Time is organized annually by CSG-Consortium for Research in Social Sciences and Management of ISEGin collaboration with the Francisco Pereira de Moura Library (ISEG), with the objective of approaching important books in the scientific areas of the school, namely Management, Economy and Society. In each session a Professor from ISEG and/or external guests will comment on the new ideas suggested by the book-theme, followed by a debate.
All sessions will take place between 3 pm and 4 pm, at ISEG Auditorium 2 (Quelhas Building, 2nd floor).

The CSG - Social Science and Management Research of ISEG presents its first Science Café at Science and Technology Week (S&T), which takes place between November 19 to 26, 2022.
Considering that the last few years of the pandemic have limited our interaction and various scientific activities, it is now time to regain the momentum of the consortium. This, which will be the beginning of the meetings Coffee-Science of CSG, aims to promote the sharing of scientific results among Junior Researchers and to present the activity that is developed by the XLAB.
The meeting will take place between 16h00 and 17h30, in Auditorium 2, after the Books of Our Time Debate Cyclesession that will begin at 15.00 and will be dedicated to the work The Gun, the Ship and the Pen (2021), by Linda Colley. The book will be presented and commented by CSG colleagues: Professor Nuno Valerio and Professor Amélia Brancoco-organizer of the debate cycle Books of Our Timetogether with Professor Tiago Cardão-Pito.
