Unite! | ULisboa Open Science Policy Forum

Open to researchers, faculty, students and technical and administrative staff alike, the objective of this forum is to co-create an open science policy guide to support university managers, policy makers and funders in the countries covered by the European Union's R&D investment instrument for Widening Countries, with a view to developing European open science and innovation universities.

We invite the community to participate in the Open Science Policy Forum. Let's join forces!

The forum will be hybrid, both in-person and online.

Conference | Health Economics: challenges, financing, and the future

On the 24th October, from 18.00 to 17.00.The conference "Health economics: challenges, financing and the future". This is the first initiative of the Health Economics Strategic Council of ISEG Alumni Económicas.

The panel will include Rui Leão Martinho, Carlos Cruz and Fernando Ribeiro Mendes. Prof. João will be the moderator.

The conference will take place at Auditorium 2 of ISEG and limited registration is open up until the 22 October, subject to completion of this form.

The ISEG car park will be available for use by those attending the workshop (subject to availability).

ISEG Sustainable Week '24

With a varied programme focused on current issues, we will explore topics such as ESG practices and corporate sustainability, discuss new sustainable business models with the participation of CEOs, address the transition to a green economy, hold workshops on climate change and its impacts on food systems, promote training on the carbon market with Carbon Literacy, and participate in a hands-on activity in the mini-forest, which is dedicated to producing compost and supporting the circular economy.

These initiatives challenge everyone to reflect on the role of sustainability in different contexts. Join us during this week which is dedicated to sustainable development.

Book Launch - 'Crashed'

The Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Luís Ferreira, and the Dean of ISEG-Lisbon School of Economics and Management, João Duque, hereby invite you to the launch of the book entitled 'Crashed: How a Decade of Financial Crises Changed the World', by Adam Tooze, published by the Universidade de Lisboa Press, which will take place on the 30th October, at 18.00, in the the CGD Auditorium of ISEG.

This event will count with the participation of the following speakers Raquel M. Gaspar (ISEG) and Maria Eugénia Mata (NOVA SBE). The moderator of the presentations will be João Duque (Dean of ISEG).

Free Psychology and Nutrition consultations - Order your cheque now

As of the 30th September, students of Universidade de Lisboa have been able to partake in psychology and nutrition consultations free of charge, thanks to the new Psychologist cheque and Nutritionist's cheque. This is a government initiative aimed at facilitating access to healthcare in higher education.

Students can choose between 297 psychologists and 208 nutritionists from all over the country, with the right to 2 to 12 psychology consultations and 1 to 6 nutrition consultations, subject to a health professionals' assessment.

Bank of Portugal presents its Economic Bulletin at ISEG

The Department of Economic Studies of the Bank of Portugal will be at ISEG to introduce university students to what lies behind the big figures for the Portuguese economy - GDP, inflation, unemployment - with a presentation of its flagship publication: the Economic Bulletin.

The Economic Bulletin for October 2024 will be presented by Professor Nuno Alves, Director of the Economic Studies Department at the Bank of Portugal.

The event will take place in Novo Banco Lecture Theatre of the Quelhas Building, on the 17th October, 2024, at 11.00.
