The Central and Alentejo Regional Delegation of the Order of Economists (DRCA), IAPMEI and Seal Group are organizing the "Moving Forward" conference at ISEG on November 11 at 5pm in Auditorium 2.
This session aims to reflect on the transformation of business in the post-pandemic world, in a desired balance between digital and technological dynamics and the new challenges that people and organizations face in the post-pandemic world. "back to business"in a context of great change. With the Covid-19 pandemic showing signs of receding, there is a growing desire for a return to normality. In a scenario in which the economy, the functioning of the labor market, business strategy and consumer behavior will never be the same again.
The conference will be attended by several speakers, including the Deputy Secretary of State for the Economy, João Neves, and ISEG professors António Mendonça and Rosa Borges.

The I Taquari Valley Impact Forum takes place on November 3 and 4, in an online format, and aims to discuss studies and practices focused on business impact. ISEG is an institutional partner of this Forum, organized by the University of Vale do Taquari - Univates (Brazil), and will be represented by professors Pedro Verga Matos and Nuno Crespo.
This event will feature panel discussions and case studies with the aim of developing the impact ecosystem in the Taquari Valley and Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. The aim is to sensitize entrepreneurs, investors, teachers and the community to socio-environmental impact businesses, enabling participants to come into contact with various actors, practices and cases that will help at all stages of the development of these businesses.

The 17th National Conference on Health Economics will take place at ISEG from October 20 to 22.
This conference is organized by the Portuguese Association of Health Economics (APES). https://apes.pt/) and includes 27 parallel sessions with more than 90 scientific paper presentations. Among the various sessions, there are 5 specific sessions for the presentation of work carried out on the current pandemic. In addition, the conference will have 2 organized sessions on current pressing issues: one dedicated to the informal caregivers and long-term care, and the second dedicated to human resources for health - in particular with the discussion of retention policies for professionals.
The Chair of the APES Board, Céu MateusShe is a former ISEG student and currently a lecturer at Lancaster University in the UK.
This event has the participation of professors from ISEG, namely Professor Carlos Farinha Rodrigues, teacher Joana Pais and teacher Sandra Maximiano.
The closing session on the 22nd will be attended by His Excellency, the Secretary of State for Health, Dr. Diogo Serras Lopes.

The Nobel Prize in Economics 2021 has been awarded to economists David Card, Joshua D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens.
David Card won "for his empirical contributions to labor economics" and the duo consisting of Joshua D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens received the award "for their methodological contributions to the analysis of causal relationships." All three economists are affiliated with US universities.
As part of this award, ISEG promotes an analysis and debate of this prize and its impact on the economy on October 13, at 6pm (Auditorium 2, Ed. Quelhas, 2nd floor).
This session will feature Professor Mário Centeno (Governor of the Bank of Portugal) and Professor Vítor Escária (ISEG Professor).
From October 18 to 20, ISEG will host the ESTER Research Design Course 2021in the framework of the PhD in Economic and Social History.
