ISEG Lisbon School of Economics & Management has once again been recognised as a Transforming School, again achieving Level 4 (out of 5 possible) within the framework of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) 2026, an international assessment that measures the social and environmental impact of higher education institutions from the students' perspective.
The 2026 edition of the PIR drew more than 20,000 students from business schools in 32 countries, underscoring the relevance and global reach of this assessment. The initiative’s continued growth demonstrates the increasing importance students place on the role of business schools in promoting sustainability, social responsibility and positive social change.
The Positive Impact Rating is unique in that it is an assessment conducted by students for students, analysing how schools contribute to creating a positive impact through four key dimensions: Energizing, Educating, Engaging and Enabling. These areas are used to assess aspects related to institutional culture, governance models, sustainability-oriented management systems, and the results achieved across various dimensions of social and environmental impact.
After achieving this status for the first time in 2023, ISEG has once again been recognised as a Transformative School, reflecting the School’s ongoing commitment to an education focused on global challenges and to training leaders capable of promoting positive change in organisations and communities.
“At ISEG, we build the future together with our students. The results place ISEG at Level 4 of the PIR, out of a total of five possible levels, confirming our solid track record while also clearly identifying the areas where we need to invest more effort,” says Winnie Picoto, Vice-Dean of ISEG, with responsibility for Sustainability.
Organised by the Positive Impact Rating Association (PIRA), a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming management education, PIR seeks to foster a new generation of business schools committed to sustainable development, the common good and creating lasting positive impact.
