On July 9, from 9:00 to 13:15 at the Thalia Theatre in Lisbon, will be the “Where Are We?” conference, the first in the series “A Debate for the Future” organised by the Economic and Social Council (CES) as part of the “New Long-Lived Societies” project.
The initiative also marks the launch of the the study “The Economics of Longevity in Portugal”, commissioned by CES and conducted by ISEG, which analyses the economic impacts of Portugal’s ageing population and increasing life expectancy.
ISEG will be represented by Paula Albuquerque, a professor at ISEG and the presenter of the study “The Economics of Longevity in Portugal”, and by Maria João Guedes, a professor at ISEG and Vice Chair of CES, who will participate in the roundtable discussion “Building a Society for All Ages” and in the conference’s closing session.
The “New Long-Lived Societies” project seeks to analyse the impacts of longevity on contemporary societies and to support strategic reflection on public responses to this phenomenon.
