From 19 to 23 October, we celebrated Sustainability Week at ISEG.
The network Sustainability Week 2026 was integrated into the coursework and offers a broad and diverse programme, with opportunities for learning, reflection and participation in the various aspects of sustainability. This was also the time when we shared the findings of ISEG’s 2025 Sustainability Report.
Throughout the week, discussions and activities were held which focused on topics such as: sustainability as a factor in business competitiveness; innovation and social impact; best practices for healthier work environments; the climate transition and its economic costs; and education for sustainability.
The programme also included a hands-on component, featuring a Circular Economy activity led by the MAIS (More Awareness in Society) team, which focused on transforming clothing into tote bags. Also included was an activity in ISEG’s mini-forest and a training session for the cleaning staff on the importance of sorting recyclable waste on campus.
A survey on student and faculty mobility was launched, and a bottle collection station was set up in partnership with VOLTA; the proceeds from this initiative were donated to a charity.
The week concluded with the final round of the ISEG ESG 2026 Award, in partnership with NTT DATA and the Lisbon City Council, which recognised the best Master’s theses on sustainability topics.
The entire ISEG community was invited to participate and get involved in the week’s activities, led by experts, faculty members and institutional partners.
