SOCIUS WORKSHOPS - Research Methodologies - 4th Workshop - SOFTWARE AIDED CONTENT ANALYSIS

We would like to inform you that registration is now open for the Training Workshops on Research Methodologies, which will take place at ISEG between March and June 2011. These workshops are organized by SOCIUS. The 4th will be on the theme of "Information Management for Research Teams" and will take place on 20, 21, 27 and 28 May and 3 June.

Programme
- Software-assisted content analysis: introduction
1. Software-assisted content analysis: bases and objectives;
2. Areas of application: interviews, journalistic texts, legislation,
open questions in questionnaires, or any written material;
- The importance of categorization in Content Analysis
1. Categorization of qualitative material within the MAXqda interface;
2. Working material: Coding examples of text fragments
(or example of the coding of texts proposed by the trainees);
- Presentation of results: Preparation of the content grid analysis
1. Outputs: Cross-referencing of categories, frequencies of categories, preparation of content grid analysis;
2. Articulation between MAXqda and Excel to carry out the Thematic Relevance Analysis;
- Introduction to the potential of MAXqda in conjunction with SPSS
1. example of how MAXqda and SPSS work together: for multiple correspondence analysis, cluster analysis.
